ELECTIONS
Approved removing Chris Shelton as parent member, child no longer attends Diamond Ridge.
REVIEW & APPROVE SAFETY & DIGITAL LITERACY IT PLANS
Visited canyonsdistrict.org/safe-schools – New Evacuation; Hold, Run, Hide, Fight; Secure & Lockdown procedures discussed. Canyons School District website has District-wide plan. Diamond Ridge High School identified TWO Safety Issues: Exterior Doors being propped open and allowing parents into the building without check-in and visitation approval.
Digital Citizenship lessons were provided on the first day of school in orientation rotations. During Digital Citizenship Week a lesson was provided on ‘Being an Informed Digital Citizen’. Lessons will continue quarterly during advisory. Digital Citizenship is also being integrated in lessons about professionalism. It was suggested that information on lessons be sent to parents on ParentSquare and posted on the website.
DISCUSS POSSIBLE AMENDMENT TO LAND TRUST & TSSP PLANS
Diamond Ridge is recipient of TEEN CENTER Grant through Canyons School Disctire with $235,000 in salary and supplies. Diamond Ridge’s original LAND TRUST & TSSP plan was for the salary of an additional Student Advocate. It was proposed and approved that the salary from the Student Advocate be moved to the Grant and LAND TRUST & TSSP used to purchase musical instruments for Diamond Ridge High School.
