- Meeting Canyons School District’s Expectations
- Sherman’s grant for cameras and editing software will be used to create content for Diamond Ridge next year. Diamond Ridge’s goal is more student involvement next year.
Principal Reports
- Diamond Ridge had an 86.5% Graduation Rate Last Year!
- Creating Trauma Sensitive Schools (CTSS) Conference was an amazing opportunity for DRHS’ administration and teachers. A plan for making Diamond Ridge Trauma Sensitive is in place. Amy Boettger commented, “I learned so many things about the brain and how it works. This information could be so beneficial for our students.”

By-Laws Revision – Review & Approve Final Version
- Proposed Changes by Marie Loudon, Canyons District SCC Auditor:
- Article III, 1e – Elections for open seats will be held at the school during the last two weeks of September.
- Article III, 1f – All elected or appointed positions are for two-year terms.
- Article III, 2 – The SCC will meet four (4) times throughout the school year.
- Article III, 3 – The election for a chairperson, a vice-chair, and a secretary will occur in the first meeting of the school year.
- Article III, 5c – Secretary:
- Article III, 5d – Counselor: Counselor may be appointed by faculty vote; if not voted on by faculty, may serve as ex-officio, non-voting member.
- Article III, 6: Missing three (3) meetings during a given school year may be grounds for the respective member (parent or employee) to be removed and/or replaced by the council.
- Article III, 9: These Bylaws will be posted on the SCC page of the school website. Each SCC member will read and agree to abide by the Bylaws as signified on their declaration of candidacy and at the beginning of each school year or when appointed.

LAND Trust & TSSP Plans – Review Draft Versions
- Continue w/21-22 School Year Plan, Funding Part-Time Counselor
- Siosifa Tafisi commented the benefits include a more manageable caseload, with no students having to be turned away. Kemi Sutton included a comment about “Trusting the school to do with the funds what they know best and how much an additional counselor has meant to her students.”
- Calm Rooms being funded by grants, as well as weight lifting equipment for students needing to expel energy.
Graduation Plan – May 24, 2022
- At Midvale Middle School. Suzanne Hales will present in more detail at next meeting.
