Welcome & Approve Minutes from March 10, 2026
Information:
College & career readiness participation: 80%+ of juniors completed with families
Higher than typical participation rates from other schools
School safety audit completed – full compliance achieved
Armed personnel on campus (state requirement)
School resource officer also present
All classroom doors now locked at all times (replaced magnet system)
Upcoming Important Dates:
Senior accountability deadline: Friday, May 15th
All credits, fees, Chromebooks must be completed by this date
Senior recognition night: Wednesday, May 20th
Planned for graduates and immediate families (2 guests per grad
District awards and academic course awards presented
Yearbook Signing: Thursday, May 21 during 5th period
- Graduation Rehearsal: Friday, May 22 8:30 – 9:30am
- Diamond Ridge End of Year Concert: Wednesday, May 27th at 6:00 pm, Alta HS Performing Arts Center
- Free admission
- Graduation: Tuesday, May 28th at 5:00pm, Alta HS Performing Arts Center
- Seniors to arrive at no later than 4:00pm
- Last Day of School: Friday, May 29
School Performance Metrics
Student retention: Only 3 students lost to attendance out of 236 total
Average attendance: ~90% (less than 2 absences per student per mini-term)
Average GPA: 2.96 (just under 3.0)
Projected graduation rate: just under 90% (highest ever achieved)
Next year’s junior class expected to have even higher grad rate
Concurrent Enrollment Expansion
Concurrent enrollment expansion planned
Cord recognition for students completing 1+ concurrent courses
Full-year SLCC scholarship opportunity for qualifying students
Winter break schedule change proposal:
- First semester calendar change proposal
- Council voted to support ending first semester before Christmas
- Would align with concurrent enrollment course schedules
- Eliminates current 2-week gap after winter break
Council Elections & Calendar Discussion

- Meeting schedule: Monthly Tuesdays, avoiding board meeting nights
